Fantom XR with Orla GT3000

Hi
Has anyone any suggestions as to how I can get the Fantom XR expession to be controled from the expression pedal on my Orla GT3000.I guess any Orla's in that range ie GT5000,9000 would probaly be the same.On my old Kawai SR6 when you run the audio out from the Fantom through the Kawai it went through the expression pedal so I did not have to worry about controlling it with the Midi.
regards
Mike

Hi, it should work o.k. as other customers with Orla's
have no problem's, they are one of the best controllers around.
Andrew Varley and Brian Sharp use Orla with TOIAB/Fantom

Certainly the Fantom works well with an ORLA 9000GT organ but you must remember that the Orla uses different midi channels for the different voice groupings on the organ and not simply channel 1 for upper manual, channel 2 for lower and channel 3 for pedals.
It is simple enough to change these and then save them to a floppy as a registration. All you need to do then is load the registration and it will play the Fantom. Unfortunately you will probably have to change performances (registrations) on the Fantom as there is no way of doing this from the organ.

Hi Reg and Keith
Thanks for both of your comments.I will have to get back to the manual and see what I am not doing in order to allow control of the expression.I have worked out that you need to have certain voice groups switched on for the Upper,Lower and pedals to come through but they are at a fixed volume level.I was also told by someone in The Organ Store at Elmswell when I was
looking at the same model organ as mine that it should also be possible to assign buttons in any
of the sound groups to select the various performances on the fantom,I will worry about that later.I am more concerned with the expression problem at the moment.

With the Orla GT3000 is it possible to control the Fantom and load into the preset buttons?
Have read about this and it sounds possible.

When I had an ORLA9000GT I was able to select the first group of Fantom performances using the registration buttons on the organ and did not need a little black box to control the expression. If you go to the Organfax website and follow the link to the Organfax forum you will find a lot of information in the very large TPOIAB thread. People seem to have done wonderful things with Orla's controling the Fantom so would suggest having a read and contacting that forum.
